Softens a Solid or blurs a field: the input is sampled on a grid, the grid is blurred with a small Gaussian kernel the chosen number of times, and the grid is read back with linear interpolation. A Solid stays a Solid and a field stays a field. With Re-distance on, the blurred surface is re-distanced so the result reads as a true distance, and outside the Domain the input is left untouched; off, the blurred values are returned as they are, and beyond the Domain the grid's edge values carry on. Finer grids keep more detail but take longer.
The Solid or field to soften.
Distance in mm between grid samples. Smaller keeps finer detail.
How many blur passes to run, from 1 to 64. More passes round off more.
Region to sample and blur. When unset, the input's own bounds are used. A large region with a small grid size is slow.
Values the block gives besides its output. The editor lists them under Properties, and an input can read one by reference.
The axis-aligned extent of the Solid.
The Solid's signed distance, as a field.
The Solid turned inside out: what was inside is now outside.
